WHY I HAVE TO TRUST GOD

Let me just start this post off by telling you, for the most part, I don’t know what I’m doing. Yes, I’m learning how to run a non-profit, lead, work with people, do all the things, but I don’t know that I’ll ever be at the point where I say, “I totally know what I’m doing and exactly what to do next.”  Which is why I have to trust God.

The times that I’ve gotten into trouble or felt like the world was against me was when I didn’t trust Him. I relied on myself which is always a recipe for disaster. Every single time.

When I start getting paranoid or insecure or when I start feeling like I don’t have anything to offer, that’s when I’m not trusting in Him but instead in myself.

What happens with beLydia, so often, is that God presents an opportunity, we jump all over it, we wrestle with Him, eventually, get out of His way and BOOM, He amazes us.

The wrestling part is where we try to take over. Where we want to either be the star of the show or feel unworthiness settle in, both scenarios never end well.

We know this and yet, we still go through the dance of trying to be in charge or direct the path.

GOD WILL ALWAYS AMAZE US

God wants us to stop trying to control everything. He has something better for us. He wants to partner with us in the experience but when we let Him lead and we trust Him, He will always amaze us.

Lord, help us to just get out of your way. Lead us with your gentleness and love and protect us from ourselves! Protect us from our enemies which so often is ourselves. Why do we continually try to micromanage you?

He is good all the time which is why I have to trust God. He wants to LAVISH us with mercy. Grace upon grace. His ways are ALWAYS better than our ways. Always.

“AND WHEN HE HAD FINISHED SPEAKING, HE SAID TO SIMON, “PUT OUT INTO THE DEEP AND LET DOWN YOUR NETS FOR A CATCH.” AND SIMON ANSWERED, “MASTER, WE TOILED ALL NIGHT AND TOOK NOTHING! BUT AT YOUR WORD I WILL LET DOWN THE NETS.” AND WHEN THEY HAD DONE THIS, THEY ENCLOSED A LARGE NUMBER OF FISH, AND THEIR NETS WERE BREAKING. THEY SIGNALED TO THEIR PARTNERS IN THE OTHER BOAT TO COME AND HELP THEM. AND THEY CAME AND FILLED BOTH THE BOATS, SO THAT THEY BEGAN TO SINK.” -LUKE 5:4-7
