WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU CAN’T STOP WORRYING

WHAT DOES WORRYING DO FOR YOU?

Does it solve the problem or prevent anything?

NO!

All worry does is steal your energy and replace it with unbelief that God has your best interests at heart.

Worry is your enemy.

It harms your health and even more, it darkens your soul and quenches the Spirit.

YOUR TURN

What is it you worry about?

  • List it in your mind or write it down right now. Take some time and leave nothing out.

  • When you are finished, if you wrote it down – tear it up and burn it.

  • Whether in your mind or on paper, give it to Him.

  • Remember this and when you return to this unfruitful habit, repeat until worry has been vanquished and banished from your normal way of living life forever.

NOW REST SOME MOMENTS AND PRAY

“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip—He who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you—the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”

Psalm 121 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34

Remember… God adores you!

HOW TO DO THIS AS A WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY

Day One: Experience Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”

Day Two: Observe & Read Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).

Day Three: Interpret Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”

Day Four: Application Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.

Day Five: Testify Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
