Scriptures about doing God’s will

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight...

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will...

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth... Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever...

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God... In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us...

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness, no one will see the LORD... You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming... Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Scriptures about doing God’s will

You were created with great care by God Himself.

You are His treasure.

Conduct yourself in the manner you were created.

Trust Him.

Follow His will for your life.

Love and serve others and remember this is a full-time commitment because “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62

God is counting on you to be all He created you to be.

You can always count on Him!

Your turn ...

Learn, memorize and burn this in all you do ... “Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14

Come and pray ...

“I waited patiently for the LORD; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; And, He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in Him. Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Many, LORD my God, are the wonders You have done, the things You planned for us. None can compare with You; were I to speak and tell of Your deeds, they would be too many to declare.”

Psalm 40:1-5

“But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry... Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts...

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

2 Timothy 4:5; Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 5:1-2

How to do this as a weekly Bible study

Day One: Experience Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”

Day Two: Observe & Read Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).

Day Three: Interpret Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”

Day Four: Application Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.

Day Five: Testify Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?

Thanks for sharing!
