Bible verses about God’s amazing love
Have you always known that God loved you? I would answer that question with an enthusiastic "yes!" Yes, I have always known that God loved me. I've always felt loved by God, but I had a completely made up theology growing up. I knew that God loved me, I knew that Jesus was the Son of God and died for my sins, but I also believed that I would sin, make mistakes, do things that weren't necessarily what I thought God wanted me to do, but then I would go to heaven, and He would forgive me. I imagined that I would die and then stand before God with "The Book of Life" open, listing all my sins, and He would forgive me on the spot.
I would spend eternity with Him in heaven because I believed in Him here on earth (but didn't have to make Him Lord of my life--belief was enough).
My belief was that anyone who believed that God existed would get to spend eternity in heaven. Their sins would be forgiven in heaven, not on earth. In case you're not aware, that is something I made up. A lot of people believe that, but it's not biblical. It wasn't until I was 23 and started reading the bible that I realized that my beliefs were not true. Yes, God did love me, but my sin separated us not only here on earth but also separated us when I died. There's no second chance once you pass away.
As I said, I knew that Jesus died for my sins and I would have called Him my 'Savior" but I thought that my relationship with Him wasn't going to start until after I died. Thank God (literally!) that I realized that I needed to choose to follow God NOW, here on earth. I needed not only to accept Jesus as my Savior now, but I needed to make God the most important Person in my life now as well. My sinful behavior needed to change and I needed to repent daily.
Father God, thank You for sending Jesus to die on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me for putting anything in front of our relationship. You are Lord of my life, now and forever. Amen.
Spending time with God became something I wanted to do once I put Him front and center in my life.
God loves us so much! He wants to spend time with us and He wants to shower us with His love. Are you willing to put your stubbornness aside and make Him the most important part of your life?
Bible verses about God’s amazing love
"Through Him, all things were made; without Him, nothing was made that has been made... For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him...
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this?
In His hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind...So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female, He created them...And God saw all that He had made, and it was very good."
John 1:3; Colossians 1:16; Job 12:7-10; Genesis 1:27,30
Your turn...
Know and believe this,
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:5
Come and joyfully pray ...
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands...The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His unfailing love...Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
Indeed, let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; and, let all the trees of the forest sing for joy...Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise Him in the heights above. And, praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His heavenly hosts. Also, praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you shining stars.
Praise Him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies. Let them praise the Name of the LORD, for at His command they were created, and He established them forever and ever—He issued a decree that will never pass away.”
Psalm 19:1,33:5,96:11-12, 148:1-6
More Verses about God's Love
“Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of His great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing...
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom ...
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor Me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to My people, My chosen, the people I formed for Myself that they may proclaim My praise... The
eternal God is your refuge, and underneath is the everlasting arms.”
Isaiah 40:26,28; 43:19:21; Deuteronomy 33:27
How to do this as a weekly Bible study
Day One: Experience Read the entire devotion. Do any verses stand out to you? If so, write it down and work on memorizing it over the week. I personally love the app “Scripture Typer.”
Day Two: Observe & Read Chain. Look up and chain verses (For example on how to chain verses, see this video).
Day Three: Interpret Read through the chain of verses starting with the first one. What do they say? Do you notice when it says “never” or “always” or “If, but, however, therefore, all…..”
Day Four: Application Do “Your turn” and make a list of people that God has put on your heart when you read this.
Day Five: Testify Who in your life, right now, can you share this with? There is somebody in your life that needs to hear this. Close your eyes. What name came to mind?
