About beLydia

WE USE HOSPITALITY TO PREVENT

CHILD SEX TRAFFICKING

You’re wondering how on earth you can use hospitality

to prevent child sex trafficking, right?

Or maybe you think there is a disconnect between the beauty of hospitality and something so incredibly dark and evil?

It only makes sense in God's upside-down kingdom where

He puts something on your heart and you KNOW you're supposed to follow His lead.

When you’ve made plans, and they don’t jive with God’s plans, guess what? He will sometimes hit you over the head (so to speak) and makes you realize; His plans are much better than your plans.

Our founder, Terri Ingraham was an event planner, interior designer, health coach, wife, mom, volunteer (all the things) but, then God gave her a dream.

In the early morning hours of March 12th, 2016, she heard “be Lydia” over and over and over in a dream. The booming voice wouldn’t stop, so she sat up and said out loud, “God just put it in my head so I can go back to sleep.”

Terri rarely remembered her dreams, but this time was different. She woke up and wrote six pages of detailed notes in her journal. She calls it a “download from the Holy Spirit” because it was clear to her, THIS WAS FROM GOD.

She was to be like Lydia in Acts 16:14-15 and show her faith by using hospitality to prevent child sex trafficking.

She was to host events and include women entrepreneurs and share hospitality and make things beautiful. All while sharing awareness about child sex trafficking.

Crazy, right?

At that time, she didn’t even know what sex trafficking was, but now she has a non-profit called beLydia that uses hospitality to prevent child sex trafficking.

Lydia was an entrepreneur and faithful and, the Lord opened her heart to respond to His word.

That is exactly what beLydia is about. Having our hearts open to respond and be faithful. Using our skills and passions in an entrepreneurial way, opening doors, opening hearts and, working to prevent one of the most evil enterprises in the world: child sex trafficking.

We know it’s crazy. It is CRAZY, but God’s love is crazy, and we serve from an overflow of His goodness to do crazy things.

And yes, we do that in a beautiful way.
